Should You Book Hôtel Dauphine-Dijon Gare-Self Check In?
Not worth booking if you care about comfort and reliability, since the guest rating is extremely low (2/10 from 3 reviews). It may still be a workable budget stop for travelers who prioritize location and basic access over service quality, but the review score is a major red flag.
Best For
- Budget travelers who want the lowest-cost option in Dijon and can tolerate uncertainty given the very low review score

- Families traveling with children, since children are allowed
- Mobility-conscious travelers who need wheelchair accessibility, since the property is wheelchair accessible
Not Ideal For
- Travelers who rely on consistently good service or guest experience, given the 2/10 rating from 3 reviews

- Travelers who need an accessible shuttle, since the data indicates no accessible shuttle
What to Expect
You arrive in Dijon at a budget, one-star property with self check-in, which can make the first contact feel efficient but also less personal. The surrounding area feels central and walkable to key sights like Owl's Trail and Les Halles de Dijon, with Dijon Cathedral and Saint-Philibert Church also within about 1.4–1.5 km. In the morning, you can plan a short walk to nearby attractions rather than relying on long transfers, and then return for an express check-out routine. However, the overall guest sentiment is very weak based on the limited reviews provided, so expectations should be kept modest.
Location Intelligence
The hotel is well placed for sightseeing on foot, with Les Halles de Dijon about 1.2 km away and Dijon Cathedral about 1.5 km away. Owl's Trail is roughly 1 km from the property, and Saint-Philibert Church is about 1.4 km, making it practical for a compact walking itinerary. Dijon Bourgogne Airport is about 8 km away, which can be convenient for short transfers.
