Villa in Mariou With Pool Near Plakias Beach, Agios Vasileios

Villa in Mariou With Pool Near Plakias Beach is a private-villa stay in Agios Vasileios, Crete, suited to travelers who want space and a quieter rhythm than the main resort strips. The property sits in the Mariou area, with the kind of countryside calm where mornings feel slow and evenings are for staying in. It’s also well placed for beach time: Plakias Beach is about 12 km away and Damnóni Beach is roughly 10 km, so you can alternate between swimming coves and a longer day by the sea. For active days, Kourtaliotiko Gorge is around 18 km from the villa and makes a strong outing for hikers who like dramatic scenery.

Guests who have stayed here commonly mention the practical comfort of having free WiFi and the ease of free self parking, which helps if you’re exploring by car. Families often appreciate the on-site arcade/game room for keeping younger guests entertained between beach trips, while couples tend to value the garden and terrace for downtime outdoors. The pool is the obvious centerpiece for many reviews, with visitors describing it as a simple way to cool off without having to plan every hour around the weather.

This is best for families and small groups who prefer a home-base feel, want easy access to Plakias and Damnóni, and don’t mind trading nightlife for a more relaxed Cretan setting. If you’re looking for a stay where you can mix self-paced days with nearby landmarks like Kourtaliotiko Gorge, this villa fits the bill.
