Open Beyond, Heraklion

Open Beyond is a small, practical base in Heraklion, Greece, set in the Made Crete area and designed for travelers who want an easy rhythm between beach time and sightseeing. The property sits about 300 meters from Mades Beach, so early swims and late walks along the shore are simple to fit around your day. Heraklion’s city sights are within reach, and Knossos Palace is roughly 15 km away for anyone planning a day of archaeology.

Guests consistently rate the stay highly, with recent visitors highlighting the calm feel inside thanks to soundproof rooms and the comfort of air conditioning during warmer hours. Families appreciate the availability of family rooms, while pet owners can bring their dogs or cats along, which is often a deciding factor for repeat visitors. There’s also a terrace for downtime between outings, and the hotel’s approach to hygiene and safety is reflected in details like guest rooms being disinfected between stays and sanitized tableware and silverware.

If you’re driving, the hotel can arrange offsite parking with discounted rates, which helps reduce the stress of managing transport in a busy area. Staff follow local safety protocols, and the non-smoking setup throughout the property keeps the atmosphere fresh.

For couples and families who prefer a quieter beach-adjacent location with straightforward access to major landmarks, Open Beyond is a sensible choice—especially if you value peace, cleanliness, and a place that works for both pets and people. Expect a friendly, low-key stay where the biggest draw is the proximity to the coast and the comfort of a well-managed room.
