Hotel Makedonia, Thasos

Hotel Makedonia is a 3-star, family-friendly base in Thasos, Greece, set in the Potos Thassos area at Potos Thassos, Thasos 640 04. It suits travelers who want an easy rhythm of beach time, quiet breaks, and practical on-site comforts rather than a busy resort atmosphere. Guests typically mention the calm feel of the terrace and garden, which makes it simple to unwind between outings, and the free WiFi helps families stay connected without hunting for signal. There’s also a seasonal outdoor pool for cooling off, plus free self-parking for those arriving by car. Breakfast is available for a surcharge, which many visitors find convenient when they’d rather not start the day searching for options.

If you’re planning days around the coast, Potos Beach is about 1 km away and San Antonio Beach is roughly 2 km, both reachable for sun-and-swim schedules. For something a bit different, Giola Natural Pool is around 5 km and is a popular destination for a natural swim, while Metalia Beach sits at about 3 km for a quieter stretch of sand. Reviews from previous guests often highlight the straightforward, friendly service and the accessibility features, including wheelchair access, which can matter for multi-generational travel.

The front desk has limited hours, so it’s worth planning check-in within the 12:00 PM window. With children allowed and a relaxed outdoor setting, Hotel Makedonia is best for families and couples who want a low-key Thasos stay with beaches and natural spots within easy reach.
