Should You Book Bertahaus - in centro storico?
Worth considering if you want a central Desenzano base with easy access to the lakeside and nearby attractions, especially given the positive guest rating (7.3/10) from the limited available reviews. However, with only 2 reviews, confidence in consistency is lower than for more-reviewed properties.
Best For
- Solo travelers who value a walkable, central starting point for exploring Desenzano and nearby sights
- Couples seeking a convenient base for lake time, with Spiaggetta di Via Lario about 1 km away
- Travelers planning day trips to Sirmione and Gardaland, since these are within reachable distances (8 km and 15 km respectively)
- Guests who prefer non-smoking accommodations and straightforward access features like key access and an elevator
Not Ideal For
- Light sleepers or anyone sensitive to uncertainty, since the property has only 2 guest reviews (7.3/10) and there’s limited feedback to gauge quietness or consistency
- Guests who need very late check-in, because check-in is only available until 08:00 PM
- Travelers who want parking included without extra cost, since self parking is listed as a surcharge (though covered parking and discounted offsite rates are available)
What to Expect
You arrive in Desenzano del Garda and settle into a central, historic-feeling area where getting out on foot is the natural choice. From the hotel, Spiaggetta di Via Lario is about a 1 km walk, making it easy to spend time by the water without needing a car. Mornings are simple: you can start your day with free wired internet and then head out toward larger day-trip targets like Sirmione Castle or Gardaland. The small amount of guest feedback (2 reviews) suggests an overall welcoming stay, but the limited review count means it’s best treated as a “try if it fits your priorities” option rather than a guaranteed standout.
Location Intelligence
The hotel’s location is positioned for easy access to Desenzano’s immediate highlights, particularly Spiaggetta di Via Lario (about 1 km). For broader excursions, Tower of San Martino della Battaglia (5 km), Sirmione Castle (8 km), and Gardaland (15 km) are practical day-trip targets. Verona Villafranca Airport is the closest at 30 km, while Bergamo and Milano Linate are farther (85 km and 120 km).
