Hostal Mayor, Alicante

Hostal Mayor is a small, family-friendly stay in Alicante, Spain, positioned on 5, calle mayor in a four-floor building that puts you close to the city’s everyday rhythm. Check-in runs from 12:00 PM to midnight, and check-out is at 11:30 AM, so it suits travelers who like flexible arrival times. The terrace is a welcome extra when you want a quiet moment without heading far.

The guest rating of 5.5/10 from four reviews suggests mixed experiences, so it’s wise to set expectations for a straightforward, hostel-style base rather than a full-service hotel. Some travelers likely appreciate the private check-in/check-out process and luggage storage, while others may be sensitive to the limited on-site parking, since parking is listed as not available.

From this central address, you can reach Alicante Museum of Contemporary Art (about 0.3 km) for an easy culture stop, then continue on foot toward the Old Town’s historic core and the Concatedral de San Nicolás de Bari (around 1.0 km). If you’re aiming for sea views, Explanada de España is roughly 1.2 km away, and Postiguet Beach is about 1.5 km from the property. For a day trip feeling without leaving the city, Santa Bárbara Castle sits around 2.8 km up the hill.

Hostal Mayor is best for solo explorers, couples, and families who want walkable access to Alicante’s sights and beaches and value practical amenities like air conditioning and soundproofing.
