Domus Fresco, Member of Domus Elegance Collection, Chania

Domus Fresco, Member of Domus Elegance Collection, is a small guesthouse in Chania, Crete, set on Akti Kountourioti 7 in the city’s lively old-town orbit. With a guest rating of 9.8/10 from 62 reviews, it’s the kind of place travelers describe as calm and thoughtfully run, especially for couples and solo explorers who want to walk to sights rather than rely on taxis. Many guests highlight the ease of getting around on foot, then returning to a quieter base after time at the Old Venetian Harbour about 0.8 km away and the Chania Central Market roughly 0.9 km from the property.

Rooms are designed for comfort with air conditioning, plus free WiFi for planning your next day in Crete. A private balcony is a standout for morning coffee or evening air, and the safe-deposit box at the front desk helps guests keep valuables secure while exploring. The property also lists mosquito nets, which can matter in warmer months, and a designated smoking area for those who need it.

Location-wise, it works well if you’re aiming for culture and waterfront strolling: the Chania Archaeological Museum is around 1.1 km away, and the harbourfront area near the lighthouse and Firkas Fortress is within about 1.4 km. Guests should note that upper floors are accessible by stairs only, so mobility planning is important. Street parking is available, but because it’s a central neighbourhood, you may need a little patience when arriving.
