The Z Suites, Gournes

The Z Suites in Gournes, Greece, is a small, guest-focused stay on Leofóros Dimokratías, a practical base for exploring the Heraklion coast and nearby sights. With a guest rating of 9.8/10 from 13 reviews, the standout theme is how quietly guests can sleep: soundproof rooms and a non-smoking environment help the property feel calm even when you’re close to main roads. Air conditioning is another frequently appreciated detail, especially for warmer days when you want to return to a cool room.

Location matters here. Gournes Beach is about 700 meters away, so a morning swim or an evening walk is more routine than chore. For family outings, Cretaquarium Thalassocosmos is roughly 6 km from the property, while Kokkini Chani Beach sits around 5 km away for a second option on the water. If you’re planning bigger day trips, Knossos is about 18 km and the Heraklion Archaeological Museum is roughly 13 km.

The terrace is where many guests seem to linger—ideal for a slower start or a relaxed wind-down after a day out. Families are catered for with family rooms, and couples often mention the quiet, restful atmosphere as a reason they’d return. Practical touches like a safety deposit box and an ironing service add to the lived-in comfort, while offsite parking with discounted rates and car hire make it easier to move around without stress. Check-in runs from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, so plan your arrival accordingly.
