Lazaratos Hotel, Kefalonia

Lazaratos Hotel is a simple, budget-focused base in Kefalonia, Greece, suited to travelers who want to spend more time on the island than in their room. The property sits in the Argostoli area, giving you practical access to everyday essentials and the restaurants and cafes locals use when they’re not driving to the beaches. Guests typically describe the atmosphere as calm and low-key, with service that feels personal rather than formal, which is why solo explorers and couples often mention it as a stress-free starting point.

Rooms are generally described as comfortable for short stays, with a straightforward setup that works well if your plan is to be out sightseeing from morning to evening. Reviewers frequently highlight that the location helps them move easily between Argostoli and the island’s most famous natural sights. If you’re planning day trips, Melissani Cave is around 25 km away and Myrtos Beach is about 30 km, both commonly referenced in guest itineraries. Drogarati Cave, roughly 15 km from the hotel, is another popular stop for travelers who want caves without committing to a full-day drive.

For meals, many guests point to nearby Greek tavernas such as Taverna Kastro, known for classic dishes and a convivial feel. Overall, Lazaratos Hotel fits best for budget-minded visitors who prioritize access to Kefalonia’s beaches and landmarks, and who are comfortable with a no-fuss stay rather than expecting upscale facilities.
