Sunny Bay Hotel is a 3-star base in Kasteli Kissamou, Kissamos, Greece, suited to travelers who want a calm stay while still reaching the west Crete highlights by car. The hotel sits on Kasteli Kissamou, where the surroundings feel more countryside than city, and that matters if you’re sensitive to traffic. Guests consistently rate the property highly at 8.9/10 from 472 reviews, with many mentioning the straightforward, comfortable atmosphere and the ease of settling in after long beach drives.
Rooms are kept comfortable with air conditioning and are offered as non-smoking options, and the stay is designed for practical days out. A swimming pool gives you an on-site reset between excursions, while the on-site restaurant and room service help when you’d rather eat without another drive. Families appreciate that children are welcome, and pet owners can travel with their dogs or cats, which is a big plus for longer road trips.
The area is built for exploration: Falassarna Beach is about 12 km away for wide, scenic shoreline time, while the ancient ruins of Polyrinia are roughly 8 km from the hotel for a culture-and-history stop. If you want town amenities, Kissamos town centre and the port are around 14 km, where you’ll find more dining and an easy starting point for coastal plans.
