Abbey Resort, Monastiraki

Abbey Resort is a small, pet-friendly stay in Monastiraki, Greece, set at Demokratias 38 & Kiprou, a neighborhood that puts you close to Athens’ most walkable sights. The property is simple and low-key, with a fireplace in the lobby that can make the common areas feel more welcoming after a day outdoors, and free WiFi for staying connected. A complimentary breakfast is included, which helps you start early for the Acropolis area without having to hunt for a morning spot. There’s also a garden where you can reset between walks, plus luggage storage so you can make the most of your day even with limited front desk hours.

The overall guest feedback is extremely limited, with a current rating of 2/10 from one review, so expectations should be set accordingly and you should plan to verify details before arrival. That said, the hotel’s pet-friendly policy is a clear draw for travelers who don’t want to leave companions behind. Accessibility is also listed, with wheelchair accessibility available, which can matter for guests who need step-free movement.

If you’re planning to spend your time on foot, Abbey Resort’s Monastiraki base works well: the Acropolis of Athens is about 1.5 km away, the Ancient Agora is roughly 1.7 km, and Plaka is around 1.5 km for evening strolls and atmospheric streets. This is best for solo explorers and couples who prioritize location and a pet-friendly setup over a high-volume, service-heavy hotel experience.
