Go Bcn Hostal Ideal Badal - Hostel, Barcelona Overview
Go Bcn Hostal Ideal Badal - Hostel is a 2-star hotel in Barcelona, Spain. Rated 2.8 out of 10 based on 5 guest reviews.
Go Bcn Hostal Ideal Badal - Hostel is a simple, budget-focused stay in Barcelona, Spain, set on Carrer de Quetzal 18 in the Badal area. It’s the kind of place that suits solo explorers and travellers who prioritize location and practical check-in over hotel-style comfort. The guest rating is low at 2.8/10 based on a small set of reviews, so it’s best approached with realistic expectations and a plan for how you’ll spend your days out in the city.
You’ll find express check-in and express check-out to help keep arrival and departure moving, and luggage storage is available so you’re not tied to your room schedule. For peace of mind, there’s a safe-deposit box at the front desk, and staff can assist with tours and tickets, which is useful when you want to organize key sights without extra legwork. The property is smoke-free, wheelchair accessible, and has an elevator, which matters in a city where stairs can slow you down.
From here, it’s a manageable trip to Camp Nou (about 2 km) and Poble Espanyol (about 2 km), both good for a full day of sightseeing. Montjuïc’s viewpoints and the Magic Fountain area are also within reach at roughly 5 km, giving you an easy route to combine culture with walking. Reviews from other guests mention the hostel’s limited-hours front desk, so if you need help outside those times, plan ahead. Overall, it’s a functional base for travellers who want to get out and explore Barcelona, rather than linger in the accommodation.

Best For
- Solo travelers who want a low-cost base in Barcelona and are comfortable with basic accommodations
- Travelers who prioritize practical services like luggage storage and express check-in/check-out over comfort
- People who plan to spend most of their time out exploring and only need a place to sleep
- Budget-minded travelers who can be flexible and are willing to book only if they can tolerate uncertainty given the low review score
Not Ideal For
- Light sleepers or anyone sensitive to poor overall guest experiences, given the very low rating
- Groups or travelers who want consistently reliable service, since the front desk is limited to limited hours
- Travelers who want more reassurance from reviews, because the rating is based on just 5 reviews
What to Expect
You’d likely arrive expecting a simple, budget-focused setup in the Badal area, with check-in available from 2:00 PM until late and express check-in/check-out to keep things moving. The stay feels geared toward practical needs rather than a polished, hotel-style experience, with luggage storage and limited-hours front desk support. In the morning, you can plan around an 11:00 AM check-out and a straightforward routine. However, the overall guest sentiment is weak based on the 2.8/10 score from 5 reviews, so expectations should be kept very modest.
Location Intelligence
The hotel is positioned in Badal, with Parc de Montjuïc and the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc about 3 km away, and Sagrada Família around 5 km. La Rambla is roughly 6 km from the property, making it feasible for day trips depending on your transport preferences. Barcelona El Prat Airport is about 12 km away, which is the closest airport option.
