Riells Mar, L'Escala

Riells Mar is a practical base in L'Escala, Spain, suited to travelers who want the coast within easy reach without giving up comfort. Set on Avinguda Riells, the hotel’s apartments are designed for day-to-day living, with air conditioning for warmer afternoons and a terrace where you can step outside and reset after time at the beach. Guests also mention the convenience of free wired internet, which helps when you need to plan Medes Islands trips or sort out travel details. The setting works especially well for families and couples: there’s a shallow end in the pool for easier splash time, and the property is non-smoking throughout, so the atmosphere stays fresh.

In reviews, visitors repeatedly highlight the calm, straightforward stay and the helpfulness of staff who follow local safety protocols. Several guests also note that the beach area is close enough for quick returns between swims, and that the lift makes it easier to come and go with luggage or strollers. If you’re looking beyond the shoreline, Empúries Archaeological Site is about 6 km away, offering a major historical day trip. For marine lovers, the Medes Islands Marine Reserve is roughly 9 km from the hotel, while Cala Montgó sits around 7 km out for a more secluded-feeling coastline. For a change of pace, Figueres’ Dalí Theatre-Museum is about 45 km away.

With a guest rating of 8.3/10 from a small set of reviews, Riells Mar feels like a steady choice for a relaxed coastal itinerary rather than a high-energy resort.
