Should You Book Hôtel Gofen?

Not worth booking based on the very low guest rating (4.3/10 from 100 reviews). Unless you have a specific reason to stay at this property, the review score suggests more downsides than upsides for most travelers.

Best For

Solo explorers who prioritize being in Paris and are comfortable managing potential service or comfort trade-offs suggested by the low rating
Couples looking for a budget-minded Paris base and who plan to spend most of their time walking to major sights
Travelers who value free WiFi and a 24-hour front desk for flexible arrival and late-night needs
Guests who prefer a designated smoking area and are specifically looking for that amenity

Not Ideal For

Light sleepers or anyone sensitive to overall guest dissatisfaction, given the low 4.3/10 rating
Travelers expecting consistently high-quality stays, since the score reflects broadly negative feedback across 100 reviews
Families or groups seeking a reliably positive experience, as the available review signal is weak

What to Expect

You arrive at Hôtel Gofen at the later end of the check-in window, and the 24-hour front desk is positioned to handle late arrivals. The area feels like a lived-in part of Paris, with key landmarks reachable by walking or short trips, including Montmartre about 2.2 km away. In a typical day, you’d likely head out toward Montmartre and then continue on to major sights like the Louvre Museum (3 km) or Palais Garnier (3.5 km), using the free WiFi back at the hotel to plan the next outing. Based on the low overall rating, expect that some aspects of the stay may not meet expectations, so it’s best suited to travelers who are flexible and primarily use the hotel as a base.
