Filoxenia MG in the center of Athens, Athens

Filoxenia MG in Athens, Greece, is a practical base for travelers who want to be in the city without giving up the essentials. The hotel is located at 27 Μπιρμπίλη, in an area that works well for getting around by public transport and short rides to major sights. Reviews are limited, with an overall guest rating of 6.2/10 from five reviews, so expectations should be set around a straightforward, no-frills stay rather than a polished, high-scoring experience.

Rooms are kept non-smoking and air-conditioned, which matters in Athens when temperatures rise, and the property also notes that guest rooms are disinfected between stays with cleaning standards designed to be effective against Coronavirus. Free wired internet helps if you need to check plans or work briefly, while the lift makes day-to-day movement easier for guests who prefer not to use stairs. Family rooms are available, making it a sensible option for small groups who want more flexible occupancy.

In terms of what you can reach from here, the Acropolis is about 4 km away, while the Temple of Olympian Zeus sits at roughly 3.6 km, giving you multiple classic landmarks within a manageable trip. Plaka is around 3.8 km, so you can still aim for evening strolls through Athens’ old-town streets when you want a more atmospheric change of pace.

Filoxenia MG is best for solo explorers and families who prioritize location and basic comfort—especially air conditioning and reliable internet—over luxury touches, and who are comfortable using nearby metro links to cover the city.
