Grand Muthu Golf Plaza Hotel & Spa, San Miguel De Abona

Grand Muthu Golf Plaza Hotel & Spa is a 5-star base in San Miguel de Abona, Spain, set in the Urbanización Golf del Sur area where golf, sea air, and day trips to Tenerife’s highlights all fit into the same itinerary. The hotel’s family-friendly approach shows up in the availability of family rooms and the overall calm, pool-focused rhythm that many guests mention in their reviews. With a guest rating of 7.4/10 across nearly 3,000 reviews, the most common praise centers on comfortable stays and the ease of relaxing on-site, while some travelers note that the experience can feel more suited to a planned, car-or-taxi day than to spontaneous walking.

Check-in runs from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, and check-out is at 12:00 PM, so it’s straightforward for longer beach days. On-site, you can unwind with spa-style relaxation nearby and balance downtime with fitness facilities that come with a surcharge. After a swim, the terrace setting is a simple way to end the evening, and the on-site restaurant keeps meals within reach when you don’t want to drive.

If you’re planning excursions, Teide National Park is about 58 km away, while Siam Park is roughly 78 km for a full-day outing. Closer to the hotel, San Blas Marina sits around 4 km from the property and Los Abrigos is about 6 km, both useful for casual strolls and seafood meals. This is best for families and couples who want a comfortable, low-key stay with easy access to Tenerife’s natural scenery and coastal towns, without needing constant city-center activity.
